Housing + in Yeni Mahalle, Kayseri

This project focused on different house plan solutions, taking into account various users.  Also these apartments had to be considered within the framework of social housing.

The basis of my project was what should be in social housing. I started my project by asking questions such as what is social housing and what kind of relationship can be considered with Yenimahalle. As a result of my research and site analysis, I came to the conclusion that social housing is a context that should be used actively by users. I paid attention to this context in the general planning of the house, including my plus activity.

Since my land has a triangular structure and the most fundamental deficiency in Yenimahalle is green space, I decided that the courtyard idea was a very suitable context for this area. Through this, I reached the form of my production. Because I did not want the courtyard to open unhindered to the environment. And I decided that the idea of the general courtyard actually came from a framework. So I wanted to surround the area.

I devoted the bottom floor entirely to my plus activity. The upper floors have become living quarters. The absence of an apartment on the lowest floor is due to the private-general distinction. Plans suitable for 1+1, 2+1, and 3+1 plans have been resolved on the floors. Moreover, the thing I kept on the upper floors was to create space on the circulation axis. I made such a design decision by thinking within the framework of social housing. Also, I wanted to create a passage that led to a courtyard downstairs. Psychologically, the awakening of people's interest in the places they enter through such a passage resulted in such an application. Finally, In order to avoid too much monumentality and a solid mass in the building, I made protrusions on two floors. I also saw that it was applied in the surrounding buildings. I tried to act in the context of social housing and courtyard throughout the project
