Housing + in Yeni Mahalle, Kayseri

The aim of the project is to design a corporate housing with a social area in Yeni Mahalle. Looking at Yeni Mahalle, there is no musical activity area around it. That's why I designed a music workshop because I see it as an activity suitable for the age range of the people in the Yeni Mahalle and because it is fun. This workshop has a classroom where everyone can educate and one room for individual study.

While creating my form, I noticed that most of the houses around my area were overhanging and I took reference from it. As a result of the form finding process and analysis, I obtained an L-shaped form. This shape I obtained, was very suitable for making a courtyard. I wanted to have a courtyard in my project. Also, based on the green area analysis, I wanted to have a floor garden in my project. Because, as understood from the analysis, there is not much greenery around my project area.

By looking at the buildings around the site and taking into account the sun path, I ensured that the living spaces in the residential houses were mostly south-facing. Thus, I ensured that the kitchen and living room, which are the areas where people spend most of their time, can receive better light. The project has a total of 5 floors, 1 for social area and 4 for residential. There are 12 apartments in total, with three apartments on each of the four floors. And my entire project is 1186 square meters.
