Pastryhousing

In our final project, they asked us to design an apartment with a public space in one of the 3 areas given in Yenimahalle neighborhood. When I went to Yenimahalle for research, I realized that it was a very quiet neighborhood and the population density was mostly students and nuclear families. Besides, since the area given to me was on the main street, there was a denser flow of vehicles and pedestrians compared to other areas. Considering all this, I thought that designing a pastry school might be appropriate here. The aim of this pastry school is for people who are interested in making cakes to both learn by making cakes here and earn money by selling them at the cafe at certain times of the week. In this project, my target audience is mostly housewives and students.

My design proposal for this project is to separate the cafe and pastry school by combining them in a small common area. When I placed this common area to form the core of the building, I represented the tree trunk and placed the apartments around them as if they were branches. There are 10 apartments in the building, 3 of them are 1+1, 5 are 2+1 and 2 are 3+1. In addition, there is a big common terrace.
