Fatıma Koyuncu

The building is located in Kayseri. The aim of the project is to bring university students and local people together in a common area and to ensure that it appeals to many people while creating spaces. When you enter the residential part of the building, the lobby welcomes people. On the ground floor there is a café and a residential meeting room. In the building, living spaces are designed where one person can live, two or more people can live, or 3 or more people can live, so basically 3 different types of houses are seen. While creating the mass form of the building, reference was made to the floor heights around it, the alignment of the balconies in the north-south direction and the fact that the door entrances were in the east direction. The entrances and exits of the cafe were created by using the pedestrian axis. No additional building material was used in the façade design, a sun breaker was added to the eastern façade of the front balconies.

From the student's point of view…

As a student studying in Agü, I would prefer to have a café in the building constructed here, one can look for a different area to work. When you experience this while at school, you can immediately notice that there is no café in the school and its surroundings where you can study. I interpret having a cafe here as a gain in both time and money (transportation).
