Housing + in Yeni Mahalle, Kayseri

The project aims to create a housing society with a plus function which corresponds to the activities such as lectures, movie nights, local meetings and study space with facilities. The ground floor is utilized for public activities as well as private meetings and studying for the people. People from around the neighbourhood can use the public spaces to conduct functions and have a pleasant time. The upper floors are for residential blocks which have a public gallery space to increase interaction. The vertical circulation system is located in between the residential blocks and mostly accessed by the residents of the building. There are two entrances to the building, one for the activity area in ground floor which can be accessed by any public and another main entrance which is accessed by the residents of the building. There is a parking in the ground floor and connected to the entrances by means of path way which circulates around the building. The idea of the building was to make it as a housing in which people feels active as well as they can be comfortable with the public activities and meetings conducted and to have a housing society where people come across in public spaces for interaction as well as having private housing to carry on with their day-to-day life.

As a student of architecture in AGU, my everyday life seems quite nice because of the friendly and good in the university. Mostly the routine is to studying and it gets quite hard many times, but exploring gives good insight. Apart from studies and classes I want to make some personal time for exercise and some other activities. Overall, everyday life as a student is hectic but thankfully it feels great to study at AGU.
