HIGH SCHOOL WITH AN ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION MODEL

  This high school is a school where the three substances that makeup Nevşehir Avanos, "soil, water, stone" are studied. In Avanos, our unique cultural handwork is "Pottery". Clay, soil, and water used in making Pottery are carefully selected. In addition, many structures are waiting to be restored in Avanos. Unfortunately, the restoration process cannot be performed due to the lack of suitable stone types, This school helps to move forward by analyzing and studying the problems of their hometown.  I took care to have a large conference hall so that professors and guests from different parts of the country could be informed about the results of the research. 

  I aimed to design a school as compact and practical as possible. Around a central gallery, it is possible to pass the classrooms, the laboratory section, the dining hall, and even the conference hall.  To make the high school social, the library, conference hall, exhibition hall, and cafe became open to the public. But on the one hand, I wanted to create a boundary between the public and the student since it is a research high school and a field that belongs to the students. For this reason, I used the two-meter height difference in the topography as an invisible border between the ring and the student.
