Housing + in Hürriyet, Kayseri

Hürriyet, a neighborhood of Kayseri, is a neighborhood where people with lower economic income live. In addition, the neighborhood socialized within itself but did not interact with the rest of the city. Catering company and restaurant services will be provided for this neighborhood to interact with the rest of the city and to employ local people.

Hürriyet has rectangular and square type buildings where row houses repeat the same plan type. Two rectangular forms were brought together in order to draw attention to the initiative in the neighborhood but not to stand out. In the design approach, the ground floor of the building, that is, the part where the restaurant and catering company is located, was emphasized with wooden panels, while the same wooden panels were also used in the windows of the bedrooms on the upper floors of the building. In this way, the building was emphasized with a different material without damaging the natural texture of the neighborhood.

The restaurant and its garden will also include a common area with sinks. Next to this common area there is a kitchen, warehouse, scullery and service area for the catering company. The restaurant can be accessed from both the driveway and the park. Circulation is provided by these two opposite doors.

A common area was designed for building users on the first floor of the building, and the vertical circulation below was defined next to this area. Three different plan types were used in the two-storey house function. These houses are 50m2, 70m2 and 100m2. While the 50m2 house is designed for 2 people, the 70m2 and 100m2 houses are designed for 3 people. The total area of the building is 1470m2, consisting of 3 floors.

For the landscape design, the existing walking paths of the park were preserved and developed, and the tables of the restaurant are also located in this park. In this way, a transition was provided between the park and the restaurant.
