ARCH201 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN I
Rüveyda Pamuk / Passaging House
At the beginning of the project I came out with an idea of gaining an awareness of perception in the neighborhood because from the analysis I saw that there was an really stable situation and people were get used to their routine life. So I tried to create a place for them to see different perceptions. Then I wanted to focus on children because they were more inclined to learn and see other things. I decided to design a reading and drawing studio for children by those reasons. And there was a primary school and a park behind the project area. After that I wanted to create a passage in that way to direct people. By using this passage people could see the exhitibion of drawings and they could have different experiences while passing there. By creating breaks on the ground level I wanted to attract people into that passage. Also I wanted to place the core in communication with this passage and on the center so I chose to design an open core on the upper part of the passage. There are two blocks which are connected by that open slabs. And there are two flats on the ground level and they have private gardens. On the upper floors I wanted to create a visual difference by extending some floors. In the extended floors I designed for bigger families by using that extensions. There are different types of flats on the floors. Overall, I wanted to create a place where people could interact and experience children's imagination.
