Housing + in Hürriyet, Kayseri

Childeraction Project was designed taking into account the needs of the people living in the developing and changing Hürriyet neighborhood of Kayseri. Designed with the concept of social housing, this building mostly appeals to working families with children and also has apartments designed for people living alone. I designed a children's studio where both children of families living in that region and children between the ages of 3-6 coming from outside can interact with each other and discover and develop their basic skills. I chose such a building form so that the studio door opening to the inner courtyard would not be vulnerable to dangers from the road. While part of the area consists of detached houses with gardens, the other part consists of apartments. By eliminating this distinction, I wanted people to live in an apartment with the comfort of a detached house but close to their neighbors. That's why, instead of an apartment corridor, I designed a terrace-corridor that receives southern light, is in touch with nature and is spacious. To ensure that the residents of the apartment would not be disturbed by the noise caused by the children in the studio, I also placed a park where children could play comfortably and benches for families right next to it.
