Housing + in Hürriyet, Kayseri
ARCH201 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN I
Alihan Yılmaz/ Biophilic Therapy House
Nestled in the vibrant locale of 'Hürriyet,' this groundbreaking residential+commercial housing block redefines urban living with its visionary design. The project aims to seamlessly integrate diverse plan types within a singular building, fostering inclusivity and connectivity with a distinct public function.
The architectural canvas unfolds as an open building design, spanning two interconnected blocks via a network of inviting stairs. At its heart lies a captivating atrium, a biophilic oasis that not only enchants visually but also intricately intertwines with the public function, creating a harmonious atmosphere.
Outside, an enchanting arboretum offers a sensory journey, complemented by landscape design that promotes pedestrian circulation. The strong, continuous facade design is a visual highlight, with wooden columns extending dynamically from the ground, sometimes reaching terraces or different floors, adorned by the verdant embrace of ivy.
Within the residential realm, ten carefully designed houses over three floors create a communal sanctuary. Shared spaces such as a roof terrace, floor gardens, seating areas, and bicycle parking seamlessly blend into the living tapestry, catering to diverse resident needs.
The ground floor hosts a public section, featuring a therapy and education space tailored to the region's nuances. This deliberate integration ensures accessibility through an open structure design, emphasizing a commitment to community enrichment.
In essence, this housing block transcends conventional boundaries, weaving together architecture, nature, and community into a symphony of design brilliance. It stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful urban planning, where every element is not just functional but also a statement of the project's ethos: a celebration of inclusive living in harmony with the environment.
