Housing + in Hürriyet, Kayseri

Housing + project is located in Hürriyet neighborhood, one of the oldest neighborhoods of Kayseri. The Housing+ project aims to bring together residences and social functions containing different types of plans. 

When we went to Hürriyet neighborhood for analysis, one of the points that caught my attention the most was that there was no library and social areas such as cafes were missing. Therefore, I wanted to solve this problem in the Housing+ project and designed a house with a book cafe as a plus function. In this way, students and the people there will have an environment where they can both work comfortably and socialize. In my design, I basically took into consideration the demographic structure of the Hürriyet neighborhood and designed both the book cafe and the residences in accordance with this neighborhood. 

When we look at the data we obtained from the analysis, I see that the families in Hürriyet neighborhood are generally nuclear families, extended families and grandparent families. For this reason, the project has 3 flats on each floor and these flats have three different flat plans: one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom. Additionally, each flat has different plan types. In this way, every person living in Hürriyet neighborhood will be able to choose the living units that suits them and live here. One of the highlights of the project is the cafe design. With the inviting entrance of the cafe on the ground floor, people can easily enter the cafe and spend time while passing by. Additionally, with the landscape design, both those living in the house and the people who come to the cafe will feel like they are in nature. Another highlight of the project is the building facade. Concrete was used on the building facade, and the protruding parts of the building were emphasized with zinc panels. 

As a result, the housing project, which includes a cafe function where people of different ages can come together, work comfortably and socialize, consists of 9 flats of different types. The housing+ project was a very enjoyable project that I enjoyed and learned a lot about in terms of architecture.
