Social Gathering Space at Büyükada

The project is located at Büyükada, Istanbul. Büyükada creates a contrast with Istanbul as a city. Nature is visible and Büyükada people are also aware of that future and respect it while protecting and living with it. The biodiversity of Büyükada varies. From different trees, fruits, and bushes. This project Catalyst* aims to gather people on activities and awareness of Büyükada’s biodiversity and importance as a general. While designing Catalyst, inclusivity is well thought out and designed according to that also as a material Oak wood is preferred from Büyükada’s natural source with the design of stone as a hybrid system. As a function Catalyst includes these to contribute social responsibility of the project: Atelier, Collective Kitchen, Tissue Culture Lab, Green House, and Meeting Hall.
