Social Gathering Space at Büyükada
ARCH301 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN III
When talking about Büyükada, the first thing that comes to mind should be flowers. We celebrate new flowers with festivals in Büyükada, which has been the flower production area of Istanbul for years. We can smell these flowers, put them in a nice place, and look at them. The goal of this gathering space is to add a new sense, taste them, and set colorful tables with flowers. Here, which appeals to people of all ages from all different backgrounds by understanding inclusive design logic, everyone can eat dishes made from flowers, witness the production stages of these flowers, and even participate in their production in workshops. The design phase of this project was inspired by Büyükada's combination of traditional wood and masonry construction examples.
