Hüseyin Karamercan Color's of Büyükada

Weaving culture is a culture that existed in Buyukada in the past but is tried to be kept alive today with the help of a few artists. The aim of the project is to modernize this culture and ensure that it continues today. It is aimed for the participants to do various activities with the yarn, fabric and dyes produced in this area, where they see every stage of weaving. Participants will contribute to stages such as making yarn from plants, obtaining dye from plants, and converting the produced yarn into fabric. Artistic events to be held in Buyukada will turn into a stage with the amphitheater staircase in the area and needs such as costumes and decoration will be met. With small weaving workshops, children will be given the opportunity to stage their own stories and turn the story heroes into reality. Moreover, rammed earth, one of the natural construction techniques, and wooden structure, one of the traditional construction techniques of the big island, were used in the building.
