Social Gathering Space at Büyükada
ARCH301 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN III
Ceren Yıldız Fashion Lab
A fashion lab was designed in Büyükada to gather people of all ages, genders, and cultures. While 'inclusive design' comes to the fore with its appeal to everyone, wood, and stone, which are the symbols of Büyükada, were used as 'natural building materials'. On the other hand, the design aims to provide opportunities to people of all ages and from all walks of life by highlighting the principle of 'social responsibility'. While the functions of the space include training, design, and production, there is also a selling block where products that can gather people are sold. In addition, a podium area was designed to be connected to the backstage in an open area where the products produced are exhibited and can attract people's attention. Also, the entrance axes were taken as a reference when settling in the area. In the area where there are two entrances in total, the secondary entrance is taken from the more sloping part, while the main entrance, which can be easily accessed by everyone, is set on a level footing.
