AQUARIUM PROJECT// PELIN TEMUÇIN
My project in Recep Tayyip Erdogan Millet Bahçesi centers around the theme of "flow," inspired by the natural movement of people and their interactions within a space. This concept is implemented in an aquarium of 40 square meters, designed to reinforce the visitors' experience with both educational and aesthetic elements. The aquarium houses seven distinct species of fish, each carefully selected to represent the diverse aquatic life and provide a captivating underwater journey for all who visit.
Upon entering the aquarium, guests are welcomed into an information hall, a dedicated space where they can learn about the different fish species, their habitats, and conservation efforts. This room is designed to be both informative and engaging, with interactive displays that cater to visitors of all ages. Moving deeper into the aquarium, visitors encounter a room showcasing rare and exotic fish, providing a unique glimpse into the lesser-known wonders of the aquatic world. This area is designed to be peaceful and awe-inspiring, encouraging a sense of discovery for marine biodiversity. Security is a paramount concern, and thus a dedicated security room is integrated into the facility to ensure the safety of both the visitors and the aquatic inhabitants. This room is equipped with advanced monitoring systems and is strategically positioned to oversee the entire aquarium, ensuring a safe environment. Upon exiting the indoor aquarium, visitors step into an expansive outdoor area dominated by a circular canopy that seamlessly connects to the larger event area. These canopies are not only architectural elements but also functional spaces, providing seating areas where visitors can relax and reflect on their aquarium experience. The design of the canopies promotes a continuous flow, guiding visitors smoothly from one experience to the next and reinforcing the overarching theme of circulation and movement.
In essence, the aquarium project in Recep Tayyip Erdogan Millet Bahçesi is a mixture of education, conservation, and architecture. It invites visitors to engage with the natural world, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of marine life while seamlessly integrating with the garden's larger landscape and flow of human activity.
