CROSSTALK // ECEM NUR YÜKSEL

In order to promote dynamic interaction between a high school, the Kayseri Provincial Directorate of National Education, and the adjacent Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, I embraced the idea of "crosstalk" in my architectural project. The goal of this design is to establish a peaceful setting where social and educational services can coexist and assist one another.
A 40 m² enclosed space set aside for private conversations serves as the focal point of the design, offering a calm and quiet space for concentrated talks. This enclosed area is balanced with semi-open and open spaces that promote larger gatherings, resulting in a flexible setting that can accommodate both small and large gatherings. These areas have been carefully included to promote information sharing and cooperative community development.

The inclusion of natural light and green spaces is a key element in enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the project. Large windows and strategically placed openings ensure that natural light permeates the spaces, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Green spaces are incorporated throughout, promoting a sense of well-being and connection to nature among users.

Flexible seating arrangements are another critical feature of the design, ensuring that the space can adapt to various needs and activities. Whether for educational workshops, social service meetings, or community events, the seating can be reconfigured to support a wide range of uses.

Ultimately, this project aims to enrich the community by fostering a synergistic relationship between educational and social services. By promoting dynamic interaction and collaboration, the design not only enhances the functionality of the individual institutions but also creates a cohesive and supportive environment for the entire community. This thoughtful integration of spaces and services exemplifies the potential of architecture to facilitate meaningful connections and collective growth.
