THE LOST ART //MUSTAFA ARSLAN

The inspiration for my concept idea originates from the landscape architecture of the Wenchuan Earthquake Memorial Museum in China, a poignant symbol of resilience and renewal following the devastating 2008 earthquake. The primary purpose of this design concept is to create a communal space that invites people of all age groups to engage with nature through the medium of graffiti. By doing so, it aims to foster a sense of unity and shared purpose among diverse demographics, encouraging artistic expression and collaboration in an outdoor setting. The graffiti area will be designed to seamlessly integrate with the natural landscape, drawing inspiration from the museum's harmonious blend of natural and built environments. This integration will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the space but also serve as a tribute to the enduring spirit of Wenchuan's people. Furthermore, the design includes a dedicated indoor area that will facilitate material sales and rental, providing artists with the necessary tools and supplies to create their work. This enclosed space will function as a supportive hub for both novice and experienced graffiti artists, ensuring that all participants have access to quality materials. By combining the outdoor graffiti space with an indoor resource center, the project aims to create a comprehensive environment that supports artistic endeavors from conception to execution. Ultimately, this design concept aspires to transform the space into a vibrant, interactive, and inclusive destination that not only commemorates the resilience of Wenchuan but also inspires creativity and community engagement across all ages.
