AIRPLAN MUSEUM AND BUFFET // NACİ EREN ÖZSOY

The Explanation of the Airplane Museum and Buffet Design
Firstly, I would like to begin with the analysis of the area. According to my research, the chosen area is one of the most crowded places. This area attracts people's interest due to its seating arrangements, encouraging them to spend time there. Additionally, the significant elevation differences within the area provide notable advantages. I wanted to take advantage of this by incorporating terraces. Moreover, being located on a busy walking path adds another crucial advantage.
As for why I chose this concept, let me explain: this area holds significant importance not just in Turkey, but globally. One of the first three aircraft factories in the world, and the first in Turkey, was established here. However, I believe that such a significant historical development is not sufficiently acknowledged throughout the park. Therefore, I wanted to create an extremely innovative airplane museum that reflects the historical importance of the area, using VR glasses and smart computer systems. I aimed to combine this airplane museum with a buffet, designing a space where people can get drinks from the buffet and sit in the seating areas to enjoy their time.
Regarding the design of the area, the roof of the project was inspired by the speed of an airplane gliding through the sky. One of the most important aspects of my design is its sharp lines. I chose to create a design with sharp lines to contrast with the circular structure of the area, thereby making my project stand out.
Now, moving into the design details, I would like to start with the buffet section. The buffet will sell water, coffee, tea, and snacks, and will also offer museum ticket sales for those who do not have a card for the museum. Due to a significant two-meter elevation difference in the area, I designed a semi-open staircase at the back of the buffet, allowing people to comfortably navigate this elevation difference. This staircase can also be used as an entrance to the second floor, where the airplane museum is located. I wanted to provide a beautiful view by leading people who wish to enter the airplane museum around the terrace. The terrace offers views of Erciyes, the concert area, and the national garden, with seating areas where people can consume their drinks and snacks from the buffet or just sit normally. Inside the museum, visitors will be greeted with smart computers, paintings, miniature airplane models, and VR glasses that provide an experience of the early days of the airplane factory.
