EARTH ART WORKSHOP PAVILION//MEHEMET AKIF AKKAS

Earth Art Worksop Pavilion Located in the heart of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Millet Bahçesi, surrounded by lush greenery where walking paths intersect, the Clay Arts Workshop offers an escape into nature amidst urban life. This unique workshop provides both children and adults with the opportunity to work with and integrate into natural materials, expressing their creativity through earth. In addition to the park's children's play areas, kiosks, and resting places, the workshop offers an active and productive way to spend time, becoming one of the park’s attractions.

The design of the workshop is characterized by sharp and layered lines, creating a striking contrast with the park’s organic forms. The enclosed space hosts various workshop activities, includes a kiln for firing products, and a point of sale for the finished artworks. Outside the enclosed area, I also designed shaded areas that are used for more workshop activities and displaying products.

The Clay Arts Workshop allows participants to work with clay, mud, and other natural materials, facilitating both mental and physical relaxation. The workshop offers a range of courses from basic ceramic shaping techniques to sculpture making. These classes, led by expert instructors, help people of all ages learn the art of molding earth while strengthening their connection with nature.

Furthermore, the workshop serves not only as an educational space but also as an exhibition area. The handmade products created here provide participants and visitors an opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity. These pieces are displayed at various park events, enriching the cultural and artistic life of Millet Park. The work done here reinforces the park’s multifaceted identity.
