MOVIE COMPLEX // HASAN KARA
Although there are many things in the selected area, I noticed there was no place for people to watch movies. So, I started to design something based on this idea. At the same time, I wanted to focus on the question "What is acting?" that I have seen in others and experienced myself. Therefore, I also wanted to create an acting workshop. I worked on multiple designs for this idea and finally made my decision. I deemed it appropriate to build an open-air cinema, a sales place with movie products, figures, and posters, and an open-air cinema. This structure includes a 30-square-meter sales office and a 10-square-meter backstage area for those who will use the acting workshop. The combination of these two structures creates a natural stage area where people can take acting lessons in the morning. In the evenings, they can watch movies on a projection screen positioned diagonally above the stage. Additionally, I wanted to make this film complex with a changeable concept, and I started with a science fiction theme. People can participate in a survey for the new theme, which changes every three months, by scanning the QR code on the panels outside.I believe I have chosen the right location for this area because, looking at the selected area, we can see it is very noisy and crowded. Yes, there will be noise in the place I chose, but it is relatively quieter, calm, and suitable for the roads, and I wanted to position it in a place that would attract people's attention.
