ORIENTEERING SPORTS COMPLEX//HİLAL BETÜL ADANUR
Orienteering is a family of sports in which participants move quickly through diverse, often unknown terrain while guiding from place to place using a map and compass. To locate control points, participants utilize a topographic map (typically a properly constructed orienteering map).[1] Originally starting as a land navigation training exercise for military personnel, orienteering has undergone many changes. Foot orienteering is the oldest and most popular of these. Almost any sport that involves racing against the clock and requiring map navigation qualifies as an orienteering sport. Orayntiring is an outdoor sport and many of its branches require large and challenging areas. Forested and difficult terrains are preferred. When we look at the area we examined within the scope of our project, we see greenery and enough empty space. At the same time, when we examine our area, it is an ideal area for this sport, as it hosts many people's profiles and especially there are children's parks nearby. Since our area is only for young children, this sport can attract the attention of adults and young people. At the same time, considering the density in the area, it was aimed to equalize this ratio, since the density of the area where the complex was previously established had less density than its surroundings. Although there are many trees in the area, the number of trees has been increased and the map scale of the game has been enlarged to obtain a larger sports field. The complex includes closed, semi-open areas and open areas. While there are changing cabins and information desks in closed areas, there are seating areas in semi-open areas and shading areas created not only for sports but also for people passing by. There are also walking and cycling paths in open areas. In this way, it is aimed to design areas not only for sports but also for many profiles.
