CYCLING CLUB // BEHICE SUDE SENER
The cycling club aims to combat the obesity problem that has been increasing in children lately, and to help children acquire healthy lifestyle habits by keeping them away from the screen, socializing them and making cycling a habit. The club is located close to these 2 areas in order to attract the attention of both the children in the playground and the people on the bicycle path, and the club has a total of 2 roads connecting to the environment, with the road connecting to the main entrance on the side of the children's playground and 1 road connecting directly to the track from the bicycle path. In addition, bicycles can be rented from the bicycle rental places located at both entrances, and the income from here is aimed at purchasing bicycles for children. Visitors coming from the bicycle path can park their bicycles in the bicycle parking areas located right at the entrance and visit the club.
The club has a total of 3 different areas: closed, open and semi-open. In the closed area, there is a repair or workshop where unused bicycles and bicycle equipment can be converted and put into use. The aim of this workshop is to enable families to socialize with their children through workshop activities and to deliver bicycles to children in need.
At the end of the workshop, there is a semi-open area where people can sit and spend time, or where they can buy food and drinks from the dispensers in the workshop and sit and eat. This area aims to provide visitors with a spacious and cool area in the summer thanks to the small hexagonal openings on the ceiling.
At the end of the semi-open area, there is a track with inclined paths designed for children between the ages of 3-15, where children can have fun. In addition, families can watch children cycling on the track both from the semi-open area and from the benches in the upper right and left corners of the track.
By using hexagonal units in the project, integrity is achieved both with the environment and between closed, open and semi-open spaces.
