In this architectural project, the earthquake risk in Kadıköy is addressed through the design of a comprehensive Earthquake Design, Research, Planning, and Application Center. Our research revealed significant gaps in current precautions and public awareness. To mitigate these issues, the ground floor features interactive spaces dedicated to educating the public about earthquake preparedness and safety. The building includes designated areas for both permanent and temporary exhibitions, offering dynamic educational experiences.
A key component of the project is the lecture halls, specifically designed for training and certifying professionals in the construction industry. These facilities aim to ensure that industry standards evolve with the latest earthquake-resistant technologies and practices. The upper floors house design and research offices focused on developing pre-earthquake and post-earthquake strategies, facilitating ongoing innovation in seismic safety.
The top floor is dedicated to a multi-purpose meeting hall, capable of hosting large events and fostering community engagement. This space is versatile, supporting a range of activities from seminars to emergency response coordination. Through this project, we aim to enhance Kadıköy's resilience to earthquakes by combining public education, professional training, and innovative research under one roof.
