Green Carpet/ Beyza Çetindag
In the project, which was inspired by the relationship between Istanbul and textiles and the fact that Kadıköy's buildings are adjacent but do not have the orderliness expected from adjacent style buildings and that the buildings have inward-looking open and closed courtyards, the order of the masses is broken by protrusions and retreats. The middle part has galleries and is designed in a layout that increases people's interaction and encounters. Referring to the idea of the building's circulation being a textile upcycling center, it is designed to make people feel like they are walking on a podium every time they enter the corridor, and to strengthen their relationship with the external environment by encountering openings. The building, which houses public functions on the ground floor, continues with workshops on the upper floors. Building functions become more specialized as you go up to the upper floor. On the top floor, people are welcomed by a podium hall with a magnificent view as its background. Since this hall will not be in constant use, a large cafe terrace has been designed in the part facing the view, which people can benefit from and whose use can be controlled on show days.
