Interim pavillion/Promesse Abumwungeri
The project area is at the center of kayseri city center, the architectural fabric of the Neighborhood is rich with historical munuments, including Hatuniye Madrassah, a 14th century building.
The theme of Interim pavillion is to integrate the madrasah in the city’s urban grid as it’s current position tempts isolation. Hence the morphology and typology of the madrassah offers a minimum amount of light to some spaces of it’s interior spaces.
The approach equipped in designing interim pavillion is offering a web circulation within the project site. Computational design was equipped to create geometry that encampasses volume as well as regulated light. Dynamic alumium panels were used to control the light distribution inside the volumes.
Interim pavillion offers an opportunity to explore the future while integrating the community’s social fabric. As well as boosting regional developments initiatives.
Functions offered include: a council theater and an event hall as well as a café to integrate the community’s social life and an opportunity to come together in light of addressing various issues in their daily lives.
Interim pavillion is designed encampassing Hatuniye Madrassah and streches 3 floors and a bridge across the Madrasah. Circulation is mainly with ramps, to explore.
