Environmental Issues Research Center
The Environmental Issues Research Center was established to investigate the damages caused to nature in the industrialization process of Istanbul and to find solutions to them. The building is designed on two different basic elements, researchers and general users. There are 3 main entrances in total.
And this design, which will live with the historical places in the surrounding, is connected with the historical texture. A courtyard was created in the middle of the building and this courtyard is connected to the park on the other side of the aqueduct and the landscape design. It continues as a green wall in the interior of the landscape designed in the courtyard. The slope in the field was solved with a staircase that started by the madrasa and provides an interactive use. In this structure designed for researchers, there are 1 library, 1 conference hall, 6 researcher rooms, 2 co-working areas, 3 laboratories, management offices and a meeting room. Units that do not require openings due to the slope of the land are located underground and the gallery space, including the wide staircase reaching the foyer, benefits from natural light thanks to the openings created in the facade and ceiling.
Steel carrier system was used in the research center. And on the facades, there are aluminum meshes fixed with box profiles. It is built on the raft foundation.
