Children University

Universities are institutions that provide education and research in various disciplines. Students train and develop themselves in these institutions in the direction of their chosen profession. The children's university is a very active new institution in terms of providing an environment where children can develop themselves, receive education in an active learning environment, experience the university environment, foresee various occupational groups and choose their future career choices more effectively.

The Children's University provides an active learning environment for children between the ages of 6 and 12. There are lessons such as drawing, music, games, writing, reading, teamwork that they can learn while having fun, as well as technical vocational trips to prepare themselves for the future, joint studies with Abdullah Gül University, joint studies with students, art of speech, public speaking, language training.  In addition, there is an earthquake simulation room specially and it offers a learning environment by experiencing what needs to be done during the earthquake, which is a reality of our country. The trainings are given to a group of students for two hours, two days a week. Groups are for 15 people. It has a total capacity of 120 students. There can be two group lessons in one day, at different times. Classes are scheduled as weekdays and weekends in the afternoon. There are also special summer camps.

As the design of the children's university, it was built in an empty space, respecting the places of the trees in the area. The selected area is very dense in terms of trees. It is divided into two according to the mass functions and is planned as the main building and the seminar and earthquake simulation room. workshops, library, admin, cafe, toilets, exhibition area, nursery were positioned in the direction of the main circulation and made to face the direction of the children's park. The playground faces both sides of the main building and a sheltered area has been created from the sun. In the other building, there is a seminar room and an earthquake simulation training room. As a façade organization, the wall openings are adjusted to receive the desired natural light and shading elements in different shapes are made on it. In the other building, it was designed as a crinkled concrete wall to emphasize the earthquake.Also, in the site, open air walking areas were created within the green environment to feel the nature.
