Children University
Hamza Abouhelw

Physical education for learning project is an oval shape floor inspired by children's favorite activity: making a circle (like a puppy trying to catch tail). The embedded amphitheater is the core of the project where many activities can be done, including festivals, open-air cinema, exhibitions, workshops, farmers' markets, and most importantly, physical activities like volleyball, tennis, football, basketball, and others. The access of the embedded amphitheater from anywhere and the trainee have a special entrance that looks like a real stadium. The height of the whole design is not exceeding 3.5 meters allowing students who live in the dormitory to enjoy the view of the erkilet boulevard without visual distraction.

The other essential play area for the school is the roof, which provides an endless path for students to run, jump and play. It can be accessible from the elevator in the public entrance and from the gentle ramp in the children's entrance, providing them an enjoyable bath. In addition, children can run freely on the roof without encountering natural obstacles since all physical barriers are demolished except the elevator in the public part. Children will also have an opportunity to sit down on the roof by putting their feet in the lower direction, producing a fantastic scene with their friends. In the winter, the roof is also a good opportunity for the children to ski since it is a sloped surface. This idea is inspired from copenhill power plant design by Bjarke angels.

There are two entrances provided with two different securities offices from each one of them. The entrance is designed according to the users. For example, the guest or newcomers can enter from the main entrance located in Erkilet street where the car parking is located. Their entrance emphasizes providing an outdoor entrance that is transformed, so its ceiling is a part of the roof; however, it is an open space (see the elevation and ground plan views). At the same time, the children have a different entrance design. They can choose from the following approaches:

1 go up to the roof by using the sloping ramp (when children, who are lazy or not get used to run, see the slating surface, they will spontaneously tend to run toward up. Also, slanted surfaces are more common than flat surfaces in the natural environment.

2 playing between the exterior columns. So, they can run after each other as they usually did, but this time the new element, which is columns, gives them a new way of playing space (see the sketch on the first page)

3 go directly to the building through the indoor spaces or the embedded amphitheater.

The façade of the building is made of a generic wall façade by applying the concrete on it, and a glazed wall with shading panels protects people from the sun.

Finally, the project is mainly for physical education by providing a simulation classroom, so children simulate a real professional player using VR technologies designed in that classroom.
