Musical Culture Center

Sümeyye Akkamış

Divrigi has a musical culture from past to present. People of all ages consider singing, listening, and resting as a hobby and experience a sense of relaxation. Many folk songs are produced here from the past to the present, and people keep their cultures alive in their private areas or on the radio. The environment of the site was born from the name of a poet. In the sloping land where the site is located, accessibility of all people, especially disabled people, is at the forefront. The design form is related with axles from the site and culture street. In the design, the semah traditions and activities that Alevis continue with folk songs, and musical events will take place in the form of an activity square and in spaces formed by the spread of the amphitheatre to the landscape. Considering that music relaxes people and people were treated with music in the past, the music culture center designed here will affect people's psychological and spiritual health. People will come together in closed, semi-open and open spaces and ensure the continuity of folk song culture and conflicts through radio and musical instruments. Music, which is the common point of all people, integrates with the cultural street formed by the concept of the common street, and there are musical workshops that appeal to every person, opening to the common event square, a concert hall and an exhibition area reflecting the past and present, as well as musical cafes. The main construction material is the rammed earth. In the landscape, there are playgrounds for children and activity areas where everyone can spend time. The design is based on its integrative power, which will enable them to overcome the lack of social space in Divriği, maintain their culture and reflect their past to the present.
