Furniture Design Technical High School

The overall approach to the design of the education campus is on transparency. A permeability was asked to be presented between the education areas and the public. Thereupon, the street used by the public and the workshops, the working environment of the students, establish a connection with each other. The school opens from the public area to the private area. It is an introvert design that continues to interact in the environment. The public can see the working environments of the students.

The functions determined according to the training program showed their effect in spatial setup, the design of the workshops and service units. In addition to the warehouse areas for large workshops and workshops, it was designed to connect the workshops and the open area in order to meet the training needs in the open field.

The design is in the form of a main core and its dividing branches. A main core is formed and there are masses separated from the core as two separate branches. It consists of two floors. Upstairs, workshops and open space are considered together. The executive offices are located at the entrance level upstairs. Downstairs there is a laboratory, classrooms, dining hall, changing rooms, canteen and multi-purpose hall, and this mass directly connects with the garden. It is also located in large recreational areas, thereby promoting socialization among students. With the combination of social units and classrooms, all students will be mixed and will help strengthen social relations.

There is a showroom as part of the building. The purpose of the showroom is to present the furniture made by students to the public. It has been thought with the aim of creating an environment that can be seen in the important names in the furniture industry and that will provide opportunities for students.

Contrary to the windows of the surrounding buildings, thin long windows and wood facade were preferred in the design. Frequent and long windows are thought to support natural light.
