Coping with Post-Trauma:
Kocasinan Spatio-Therapy Node in Kayseri
ARCH202 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN II
İclal Yeter / P+ Persona
Hold-yst-in was designed in the central location of Kayseri to overcome closed space fear and contribute to the graded recovery process with various activities. Stereotomic and tectonic building components created by reinterpretation of dystopic ideas express themselves through horizontal and vertical circulation in every area of design.
Sharp corner openings and closures created horizontally and vertically aim to give the perception of dystopic space. Chimneys, which aim to create deep light plays at every point from different angles of the sun, play an important role, especially for the pool in the basement floor, entrance and sleeping area. The wall painting area, handwork area, spa and water therapy area, music room and front talking rooms on the ground floor are given its place to sleeping areas and therapy rooms on the upper floor. On the basement floor, this continuity is provided by a swimming pool with different depth.
The relaxing and psychologically positive effects of water play an important role in landscape design. Mysterious seating areas and open seating areas are designed and positioned according to the traumatic situations of the users.
