Barış Bilgi / Unchaining

The innovative architectural design of the rehabilitation center unchains traditional constraints, creating a dynamic environment with no limitations. This wall-less concept promotes fluidity and openness, allowing for seamless transitions between therapeutic and communal spaces. The design is inherently flexible, adapting section by section to the evolving needs of patients and staff. It skillfully integrates public and semi-public areas, fostering social interaction and building relations within the therapeutic community. Private spaces are thoughtfully incorporated, providing necessary seclusion for personal reflection and recovery while maintaining a connection to the larger support network. This approach not only enhances the functionality of the center but also promotes a harmonious blend of social integration and individual healing. In short, the main idea behind this project is designing inclusive, transitional places and unchaining the spatial restraints: Rebuilding the social and physical prisoner's sense of freedom and community.
