Kayseri Art Universe/Nihat Ayan
The main goal has been to blend Kayseri's rich historical and cultural heritage with contemporary arts. The motto "Gelenekten Gelecege’’ was determined in this direction, aiming to bring together various branches of art.
It is observed that the land is in a valuable location and at the intersection of many important landmarks. On the ground level, the art gallery, theater hall and auditorium building are located in three separate masses. There is a monolithic mass connecting them to each other at the upper level. In this mass, there are administrative units, workshops that bring together traditional and contemporary arts, a library and a cafeteria. At the same time, this mass serves the balconies of the theater and auditorium building. It is desired to create a pavilion effect by creating a semi-open area with the colonnaded structure of the upper mass. In this context, this semi-open area serves as both recreation and semi-open foyers. The aim is to allow more daylight by breaking the massive structure of the mass with the gallery spaces opening to the inside and outside, seen here and there.
The landscape design is designed to emphasize three separate masses. The landscape combines with the important landmarks in the surrounding area and creates integrity with the project. Service entrances, artist entrances and administrator entrances are directed to the west façade and separated from the visitor entrances.
