Voice of Kayseri / Fatma Bilge Özgür
In this project, it is aimed to filter the sound and noise of the city through a channel and collect it in a basin. In this context, the masses are classified according to their functions, and four main masses are placed in a square, taking into account the characteristics of educating, teaching, exhibiting and listening to music. A settlement was proposed with reference to Taş Mektep and the surrounding historical mosques. Entertainment and education intersected in a square where Live Box, a performance area, was created. Education and training areas have been placed at the upper limit of the area so that students of Kayseri science high school and various surrounding high schools can access the upper part of the area, and registration rooms are planned on the lower floor of the teaching studios. A sound library has been created in an open library layout project. A conference hall operating at the same level in the square is planned for the lower floor of the library. A conference hall with a capacity of 150 people has a foyer area and a live radio setup. The circulation element, planned as a small seating element, can use the semi-open space under the bridge connecting the staircase, library and auditorium as a stage. In the auditorium layout, the artist and the audience are separated with a secondary entrance and connected to each other again on the interior plan plane. The Auditorium, which has a capacity of 850 people, has three main entrances, a ticket office, a rock, two permanent, four temporary exhibitions, fire escape stairs and a souvenir shop on the floor connected to the library. In the backstage section at the back of the stage, spaces where musicians can work and practice have been created with specialized rooms, dressing rooms, preparation rooms and storage areas spread across the floors. An auditorium that can be used for multiple purposes has been designed with a movable seating arrangement. When the seats are pulled back from the ground level, the desired concert or event can be held with a closed flat floor. Finally, the historical texture was preserved by suppressing the nearby mosque with a museum layout where the view can be enjoyed in an open space with the stepped arrangement of the roof overlooking the view of Erciyes, appetizers and permanent contemporary art music areas and sound installations in the museum were made available. On the facades, the rusty pipe, which is called movable industrial waste, on which the music can reflect its own rhythm, has been rehabilitated and made mobile in certain parts and fixed in certain parts, thus ensuring that the wind energy in the area creates a resonance on the facade. It also has sun shading properties.
As a result, it is aimed to spread the contemporary music around with the figuration of a square where entertainment and education are melted in a melting pot and collapsed. The human scale is taken into consideration in the sustainable and user-first plan plane and in the cross-sectional plane.
