Sahne Kayseri/Abdülkadir Yıldırım
A versatile venue capable of hosting a myriad of events, where people come together for social interaction
The project site, characterized by the dominance of massive structures, has been observed, and the design strives to assert its presence amidst these structures rather than being overshadowed by them. Through landscape design, pathways were strategically laid out to guide visitors to the entrance and create various arrival routes.
The structure is organized around a central core, with a circulation axis winding around it. Split into two sections by a gallery void, one side houses performing arts, while the other accommodates exhibition spaces and a library. The core, surrounded by an elevator shaft, creates modular niches, balconies and internal gardens based on facade column axes.
Utilizing inclined levels, the auditoriums and theaters are stacked, optimizing space. Surrounding areas include backstage facilities, classrooms, rehearsal halls, ateliers, and conference rooms. The library and exhibition space preserve the central core, with storage units and versatile areas surrounding it.
The entrance of the structure is accentuated by being recessed to the extent of a column axis. Externally, the structure presents a cooler aesthetic with the use of fibercement, glass, and aluminum, while internally, a warm ambiance is curated through the incorporation of materials like corten steel and marble.
